Reserve Queen in waiting exposed (unmasked) as gangster moll

In 2003 the Dutch prince Johan Friso announced his up coming marriage with a well-known and influential commoner, Mabel Wisse Smit. Together they would be reserve King and Queen of the Netherlands. But gossip surfaced that at the end of the eighties Mabel had a love affair with Holland’s top crime boss: Klaas Bruinsma. Mabel downplayed the friendship with the drugs lord and declared that she broken up with him before she had discovered his real nature. Peter R. DeVries dove into the case and traveled to Chili for a revealing interview with the former bodyguard of the drug kingpin. This informant made clear that, Mabel Wisse Smit, had a passionate affair with the mobster with full knowledge of his underworld ties.  After the broadcast of ‘Mabelgate’ the Dutch government responded with the decision that prince Johan Friso would be denied any claim on the throne if he went ahead with the marriage. Nevertheless the couple wed and now enjoy purely ornamental tittles.
